Medicare does not apply to couples therapy.

We offer evidence-based support for children and families through our behaviour support services, aimed at building resilience, managing emotions, and enhancing wellbeing. Our psychology services are designed to cater to the unique needs of each family, and NDIS clients are always welcome. Please inquire about our counselling fees for more details.
Our behaviour support services include behaviour intervention and skill training, along with parent/carer coaching. We also offer comprehensive team consultation and staff training, all aimed at providing early intervention behaviour support. Additionally, we ensure clarity on counselling fees related to our psychology services.
An interim and comprehensive plan, along with a quality of life plan, can greatly benefit from behaviour support services. Additionally, a functional behavioural assessment is essential for understanding the needs associated with counselling fees and psychology services.
To receive a Medicare rebate, you must have a valid Mental Health Care Plan and referral from a GP, psychiatrist, or paediatrician.
Under the Medicare Better Access program, you can receive rebates for up to 10 sessions per calendar year.

Medicare rebate for autism assessments under 25
If you are under 25 and have a valid GP or paediatrician referral for a developmental assessment, Medicare provides a rebate of $98.95 per eligible assessment session under the Complex Neurodevelopmental Disorder items.
Multiple sessions may attract rebates, reducing the total cost. This rebate does not cover the full assessment.

All assessments include a comprehensive written report.
We provide medico-legal, and independent psychological reports upon request. Fees depend on the complexity and scope of the report.
All therapy fees are paid on the day.
Assessment fees may be paid in instalments.
A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required for cancellations or changes. Late cancellations or non-attendance incur the full fee. Medicare does not cover missed appointments.
Flourish Horizon Psychology & Counselling provides Medicare funded psychological services under multiple Australian Government programs. These programs allow eligible clients to access affordable psychological care when referred by a medical practitioner.
To access Medicare funded psychology sessions, you must be referred by a GP, psychiatrist, or paediatrician.
If your GP is the referring doctor, they will prepare a Mental Health Treatment Plan before referring you to a psychologist. You should book a longer appointment with your GP to allow time for this.
Under the Better Access initiative, Medicare provides rebates for treatment delivered by registered psychologists for people diagnosed with a mental health disorder.
Eligible clients can receive up to
10 individual sessions per calendar year
10 group sessions per calendar year
These sessions are for clinically diagnosed mental health conditions, including but not limited to anxiety disorders, depression, PTSD, ADHD, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, trauma related disorders, psychotic disorders, sleep disorders, substance use disorders, and other diagnosable mental health conditions.
The Chronic Disease Management program supports people living with a chronic or complex medical condition that has lasted, or is expected to last, at least six months.
Medicare provides rebates for up to five allied health sessions per calendar year under this scheme.
Eligible conditions include, but are not limited to asthma, diabetes, cancer, cardiovascular disease, stroke, and musculoskeletal conditions.
To access this service, you must be referred by your GP under a Chronic Disease Management Plan.
Children and young people under 25 may be eligible for Medicare funded autism and developmental assessments under the Complex Neurodevelopmental Disorder Medicare items.
To access these rebates, the child or young person must be referred by a paediatrician or psychiatrist for a developmental assessment.
Medicare rebates apply to eligible assessment sessions and can be used across multiple allied health providers involved in the diagnostic process. These rebates reduce, but do not fully cover, the total cost of an autism assessment.
Medicare provides rebates for pregnancy support counselling for clients experiencing emotional or psychological concerns related to a current or recent pregnancy within the past 12 months, including miscarriage, termination, stillbirth, or complicated pregnancies.
Up to three Medicare funded sessions per pregnancy are available with a psychologist.
A referral from a GP, psychiatrist, or obstetric provider is required.
Medicare rebates are available for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients who have completed a health assessment with their GP and require follow up allied health services.
Up to five allied health services per calendar year are available under this program. These services are in addition to other Medicare funded services such as Better Access and Chronic Disease Management.
